“The best in the business!” “Wonderfully effective!” “Hilarious & super knowledgeable!”
These are some of the accolades people have expressed for Brenda Conlan, the March 21 Coffee Break speaker, who will discuss “The Parent Trap – Myths about Drug & Alcohol Use.” An Alcohol & Other Drug Educator since 1994, Brenda works to increase abstinence, delay first use of alcohol and enable young people to make lower risk choices for their lives.
Brenda graduated from UMASS Amherst and taught languages in Germany before she began her training in the field of drug prevention. A much-in-demand speaker, Brenda combines current prevention research with vast national and international teaching experience to assist young people in reaching their full potential. With personal experience as an adolescent drug addict, she believes that facts alone are not enough – drug education has to find its way into a young person’s heart for it to have a lasting effect.
